We are tired peeps tonight. Here’s our journey today, in pictures. Went to a deserted beach and a deserted island full of birds, called “Bird Island” or the official name is Swans’ Cay. It contains the only known nesting place, in the Caribbean, for a bird called the “Red Billed Tropic Bird”.
Allison ate a fish that looked like it was just killed, fried and then plopped on her plate. I had a taste of it and it was delicious but the optics on it… whew. It was rough.
The beach we went to today was another amazing find. The Capt of the boat just dropped us off on the beach and then went out a ways to fish and came back in an hour, to pick us up. Robert went with him but only caught a puffer fish.
The sand at this beach was amazing. Hard to describe. When you were in the water, standing on it, you would just sink into it. It was the strangest feeling. This beach was at least a couple of miles long and we couldn’t see anyone from where we were. He dropped us off near a reef, so those of us with snorkel gear could get a nice show.
Alas, our time at Bocas is almost over. We go back to Boquete tomorrow. We will miss the amazing water and beaches here. But the heat and severe humidity… not so much.
