It’s been quiet on The Panama Pause for a few days. Partly due to the fact that our wifi went down for over 24 hours and partly due to our recovery from an exciting weekend in Bocas. When your wifi goes down and you have no English speaking channels on TV, you get creative. Haley started making things with clay. Zoe made Halloween cards for people here and in AZ. I was the recipient of a long and creative spa treatment from Zoe (thus the picture that looked like I was in a nursing home) and Dan did a lot of sighing. Oh, and we had to add in a lice treatment for Zoe. Good times.
Today we PLAN (keyword) to get our car. Dan is going at 10 to the dealership to pick it up. We confirmed with our salesguy TWICE that it was ready. But that doesn’t mean it is. We can only hope.
Today is our last day of Spanish school and we are pleased with the results but we are all glad to have a more relaxed schedule. With the added time it takes to get there and get back, daily grocery shopping, trying to keep up with normal home stuff and nightly Spanish homework, it felt a little too busy. Principal Sherman shut down homeschool for the week after Profesora Sherman had a meltdown about how there wasn’t enough time in the day to keep the family fed, clothed and rested. Good call, Principal. We’ll start back up once we get to Pedasi next week.
Tonight we’ll go to a Halloween party put on by some expats here in Boquete. Zoe managed to scrape together a Halloween costume thanks to Candace Smith and Haley will be festive in orange and black. Good enough!
This will be our final weekend here and if we have a car it will be a nice chance to explore a bit more. We hope to have a close up encounter with sloths, check out a shopping street in nearby David and stock up on a few groceries before the entire country shuts down for a few days next week for the holidays.
If all goes as planned (keyword again) we’ll post a picture of the Sherman Coche later today. For now here’s a picture of the girls modeling their new shirts from Spanish school.
