Netherlands LOL – Let's Just Travel

It’s time for our last post from the Netherlands. We pretty much spoke English here, but there were still a lot of opportunities to capture silly signs. We loved the Dutch words, we learned a few (mostly about food and street signs) and enjoyed listening to our audio translation of them. Here are a few LOLs from our month here…

I think winkelwagens is really the best name EVER for a shopping cart. Bonus points for anyone who can tell me the store where this picture was taken.

I felt like we should do this just to try it out but the kids were not into it. Buncha cynics!

This sign – with no words – was inside our first apartment in Amsterdam. I studied it daily and never understood the meaning. Now accepting any and all suggestions.

This is in an elevator. It’s pretty clear where to go if you want cheese.

At a restaurant. Despite the strange name, we ordered it. It did not come in a paper bag, unfortunately.

Oh now isn’t this a cute little joke! Clearly the 6th grade boys have been here.

Yes, french fries are so popular they put up signs to say that they can’t be brought into stores!

Cracked up at this one. Dan loved the very logical handle.

Whew! Sure glad I had instructions. Clearly I’ve been doing it right all along.
