Mexico LOL

Thanks to phones with cameras, we are able to capture funny moments as we go. So it’s only fitting as our very last blog post on Mexico, we’ll share with you our favorite images from the last 10 months.

2/5/16
In Spanish there are no words that start with “S” followed by a consonant. They all have an E in front of the S. So this makes sense. Kind of.

Nobody worries about trademarks and copyrights here. That would be silly.
Benito Juárez / QROO / Mexico - 5/16/16
Somebody needs to tell this guy to not drink so much water!
Solidaridad / QROO / Mexico - 7/9/16
They call the Pope “Papa”. It’s also the word for potatoes. You’d think the guy who translated this grocery store sign could have figured out he should use the food word.
Playa del Carmen / QROO / Mexico - 7/8/16
People watching in Playa del Carmen is always good. Maybe he’s hunting Pokemon. Or his clothes.
Chiquila / QROO / Mexico - 6/30/16
Sure glad they put the speedbump sign there otherwise we might have missed it.
tienda3
Spell check, y’all.
tienda4
They couldn’t come up with their own word for PIE so they changed the spelling to pronounce it the way we do in English. It works.
lol
I did a double take on this one.
Playa del Carmen / QROO / Mexico - 7/9/16
Sing it with me: “That’s what makes you biuriful!”
Puebla / PUE / Mexico - 8/17/16
I’m glad this was not our room at our hotel in Puebla.
Cancún / QROO / Mexico - 8/13/16
This sign at our Airbnb in Cancun allowed us to review some basic grammar rules with Zoe.
Mexico City / DF / Mexico - 8/31/16
Caution: unicycler in the area.
Mexico City / DF / Mexico - 8/30/16
In case you need to find the bathrooms or the water drinker.
Bacalar / QROO / Mexico - 9/26/16
Who else finds this absolutely hilarious? Seen in Bacalar, Mexico.
Río Lagartos / YUC / Mexico - 10/8/16
Railings are for sissies.
Cancún / QROO / Mexico - 9/22/16
Door to door furniture sales. Saves on overhead.
Mérida / YUC / Mexico - 10/10/16
They must love their Burger King. It gets it’s very own traffic sign.
Abal / YUC / Mexico - 10/12/16
This is a very detailed sign signifying a cenote but we decided it should actually be “Old man going to a birthday party at the pool”.
Progreso / YUC / Mexico - 10/11/16
Good thing they translated that word. I never would have known what it meant. Definitely not from the shape and color of the sign. Nope.
Mérida / YUC / Mexico - 10/10/16
I think Strawberry Shortcake sounds much better in Spanish!
Mérida / YUC / Mexico - 10/10/16
This says 3 Hermanos but we always thought it said Shermanos. We are the Shermanos!!
Puebla / PUE / Mexico - 8/18/16
So they translate “bean” into Spanish but not “jelly”??? Where’s the sense in that?
7/8/16
That’s a really nice URL plastered on the back of a taxi. So glad my kids could see that.

So there you have it, that wraps up our blog posts about Mexico. Will we be back? Probably! Is it time to move along and explore someplace new? Yep! So stay tuned for more adventures up ahead.

Mar Caribe - 9/28/16
Bye bye, Mexico. Thanks for the giggles!
