We sure have been enjoying our expat friendships here. We strive to get to know and integrate with the locals but it’s also wonderful to spend time with people who really “get” what we’re going through.
We played poker night last night with some expat friends from Canada and had a wonderful meal tonight with three other expat families (along with our combined 10 kids). We have a great time swapping stories of near and full-on meltdowns, how our friends and family reacted to the news we were moving to Panama and what we thought Panama would be like before we got here (that’s always good for a laugh).
We picked Panama in part because of the large expat population and Pedasi was a real draw due to the expat families here. We have not been disappointed and are forming some wonderful friendships.
