We are very happy to be in Pedasi. Our house has a lot more room to hang out and thanks to our air conditioner we spent most of the day just lounging and relaxing. Sometimes you need days when you don’t leave the house and don’t experience new things.
We did finally leave in the afternoon to explore a little more and find the local beach. Then we met up with the Smiths (accidentally – this town is so small that happens a lot) and then finally met another family we befriended online several months ago. Zoe wasted no time in getting to know her kids and was soon running around chasing chickens in their back yard.
The three families ended up having dinner together at a local BnB that is owned by yet another expat. And we ran into another guy we knew from our online home searching. Like I said, it’s a small town.
We have a lot of things “in the works” including looking for a permanent home, arranging for local schooling for the girls, getting a PO box, buying health insurance, more Panamanian cooking lessons and checking out a local language school. But this is Panama so those things won’t all happen in one day. Or even in one week.
You know things have changed in our lives when the day after tomorrow is too far out to plan. Candace and I were discussing a parade (yes, another one) on Wednesday. We agreed that it was much too far in advance to be planning that day and decided to discuss it Wednesday morning.
Here’s a picture of the girls at the beach today. Due to the wind the waves were a little rough but it was lovely and warm. It would have been great for boogie boarding but that will have to be some other day. Maybe Wednesday.
